IMSS: disabilities due to covid-19 cases omicron variant

As a result of the spread of the COVID-19 virus and its variant Omicron, the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) reactivated the “COVID-3.0 Permit” program to attend to the cases of this condition that may be presented by beneficiary workers.

The “COVID-3.0 Permit” could be obtained by workers through the digital platform (www.imss.gob.mx) or mobile device application, which will be equivalent to working temporary disability, for 7 days for cases with symptoms and 5 days for asymptomatic.

In this way, it is avoided that, during this stage of high infections, workers go to the clinics to obtain disabilities due to this condition. Similarly, in the electronic portal of the Institute, the insured may register their bank account where the economic subsidy corresponding to this special permit will be deposited.
