Friday, July 23. The Technical Council of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) extended the deadlines for the fulfillment of social security obligations according to the decree on labour subcontracting. Authorized as an administrative facility to extend the 90 calendar days established in the transitory articles of the aforementioned decree.
The authorization responds to the ongoing legislative process within Congress regarding the Initiative to reform the Decree on labour subcontracting, with the purpose of extending terms, published in Gazette LXIV / 3SPR-21/119360 of the Senate of the Republic on July 21.
In a detailed statement that the terms of 90 calendar days are extended until it is approved and enters into force, by means of a new decree that the Federal Executive issues for that purpose, the extension proposed in said initiative or that which the Congress of the Union finally decides to approve.
The decision of the Technical Council of the IMSS allows safeguarding the rights of workers and their families, as well as supporting employers or obligated subjects in the fulfillment of their obligations regarding social security.
